Restored from image, I have questions

Please help, I screwed up! Two months ago I imaged my hard drive and today I messed up while deleting a partition. I had set up a dual boot Windows 7 and Linux (a couple of years ago) but I really never used Linux. Today I removed a partition from my hard drive but I accidentally removed the Linux partition and not the one that I thought. When I restarted I got a Grub message and I could not boot my computer. I tried to fix it but I know so little about Linux that I couldn't get it to boot to anything. I bought a new hard drive and restored my computer from the image, but now all my files are two months old. My question: Can I take my user file off my old drive and put it in my new drive in place of the older user file that's there now?

Yes, if you can get to them. You can just copy all your Documents from the old drive and paste them into the new C:/Users/yourusername/Documents, the same with music, pictures and so on.

Thanks for your answer. Can I replace the user file while Windows is running, or should I start the computer with a Linux live CD and replace the user file while Windows is off?

If you can read the user files from your old disk, do it while Windows is running. On your old hard drive, go to C:/Users/Yourusername/Documents (it won't be C drive on your old hard drive. Just see which letter your old hard drive is) and copy the files, then on your new hard drive, open the Documents folder in your Libraries and paste them in there. Same for Pictures, Music and all of the other folders in your user files.
