Restored Laptop using Backup now unable to startup services

I had just restored my laptop to a backup that I had created when I just bought it. But now after the Starting Windows screen it says " Setup is starting up services " and it just stops there. I waited for hours and nothing has happened. What should I do?

Are you asking for help to complete manufacturer's Factory Recovery without even mentioning the make/model?

There should be a manufacturer's Recovery Partition on the HD which is a more stable method of recovery than running the Disks. Try running it now. If it fails boot in with free Partition Wizard bootable CD to see if the Recov partition still exists, mark it Active then reboot to see if it will run.

If this fails post back the make of computer. Try booting to run the Recovery disks again, after wiping the HD to clear the boot sector: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

If these fail you can order new Recov Disks from maker or use a Win7 DVD to clean reinstall with the Product Key on COA sticker: Reinstalling Windows 7
