I had to reload Windows 7, and made a backup copy of my hard-disk before restore. When I reloaded the backup files, most went well, but some of the .pst files took an extra effort. BUT 7 years of personal folders were nowhere to be found! The backup file is about 58 zipped folders of 200 MB. How can I look up for my personal folders in this backup? Adress book, sent items and some other folders I have recovered, but all my saved e-mails (sent and received) are lost or at least disappeared. Any suggestions?

I tried it but didn't work. Is there some way to look into the zipped files to find out where my missing .pst files might be??

..Or could the following explain it: Initially the PC software was Windows Vista, which I upgraded to Windows 7 without problems. Could that explain why I cant find the folders now??

How do I restore my back-up files from a memory stick?

My home PC (Windows 7 Pro 32 bit) crashed and I had to reload the software. In the the process I was unable to recover some of my private folders on MS Office (2007 Pro). I now have the backup on a memory stick, and tried to restore the files on my laptop (Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, Office Pro 2010). The problem is that the recovery program only allows recovery from the back-up or from Internet. There is no (apparent) way to choose the memory stick for your backup. Any ideas how to do this?

I am also having problems in restoring Personal Folders after reloading Windows 7 and I would be grateful for some advice.

Following a re-load of Windows 7 all my data restored ok but not the PST file. After a couple of attempts to restore to the original location I tried restoring the AppData folder only, which contains the PST, to another folder on the C drive. Although the Restore facility confirmed it being restored and the properties showed the new folder to be of considerable size, it appears to contain no data. How do I make this 'hidden' data visible so I can restore my PST file from Outlook?
