Hello,

I have a question concerning the recovery of a system image made with windows 7. When I made the backup image, I had 3 partitions on my disk. But, since I didn't need anymore the third partition, I merged my system partition with this third partition thanks to the disk manager utility of windows 7. So now, I have only 2 partitions : system partition and data partition.

So my question is, if I want to restore my backup image, is it a problem if the number of partitions has changed ? In what state I will find my system after restoring the image ?

Thanks.

Welcome to Sevenforums, Jolan42!

An image is just that - a true copy of the disk at that time. I once tried to get rid of the manufacturer's junk by doing something similar to what you describe, and when I restored the image, back came the partitions I had deleted.

I would recommend doing another image of the system now that it is configured the way you want it.
