Solved Right click menu: Shutdown/Restart

I just reinstalled my Win 7, due to the hardware upgrade.

Previously, when I right clicked on my desktop, I have the options to Shutdown and Restart my system. Unfortunately, I don't remember how to set/enable this.

How do I add Shutdown/Restart options in Desktop Context Menu?

Welcome to the Seven Forums
First make a backup http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/4230-registry-backup-restore.html
Click on rb: start button in the search box type regedit and hit enter the registry editor should open then navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell in the left navigation pane
Right click on shell go to New> Key type in Shutdown


Right click on Shutdown go to New> Key type in command


And in the right navigation pane Right click on Default click on Modify and type in Shutdown.exe -s -t 00 and click OK


Repeat the above steps for Restart when you get to the Modify type in Shutdown -r -t 00


and you should have them both.

Nice one Jerry.I notice you have restart explorer too.Can you add this in as well, I for one would find this useful.
