Hello,

I'm trying to setup Roaming profile on a Windows 2008 R2 domain with Windows 7 clients.

I have created a Share on my file server (\\server\Profiles$).
The Share permissions; Domain admins - Full control, Everyone - Change/Read, Roaming Users - Change/Read.
The Security on the Share folder; Roaming Users - Modify, Domain Admins - Full control, Domain users - Modify.

Profile path in AD - \\server\Profiles$\%username%.
When I login with my test user, a folder is created under the 'Profiles$' share with a .V2 extension.
Only the test user can open that profile folder but not the Domain admins.

Is something wrong with the permissions?

Hello there mate!

I'm not an expert but here is something you can try Run "rsop.msc" on clients to check if "Allow Administrator group to Roaming Profiles" was applied. Also run "gpupdate /force" to make sure everything is applied properly.

In addition to this you can try to add the Domain admins to NTFS permission and see if that works.

Just go over this once again just to make sure all the settings are done correctly Deploy Roaming User Profiles

Exactly where under rsop.msc should I find the policy?
Domain admins are already in the NTFS permission.
