Running a script when Explorer starts

I need to run a script somehow when explorer.exe starts up. This isn't as simple as making it run on system startup or logon, because the system starts up but then kills explorer and brings you to a third-party login screen for my university system. Point is, I need to run a script when explorer.exe starts and I can't seem to find a way to do it. Any ideas?
