Running Bitdefender Tot Seq 2013 & SuperAntiSpyware - Good or Bad?

I did a lot of research regarding the best AV sweet, and I found Bitdefender rated highest in several reviews, so that is what I bought.

I also have SuperAntiSpyware Pro, and would like to use with Bitdefender, but am concerned that they may conflict. Many say that SAS is Spyware, and not an AV, so it shouldn't be a problem. I am given to understand that the free version of SAS is on demand only, and hence not an issue, but I want to run the Pro version live.

Will this cause any issues?

Thanks for any and all help,
Herk

That's OK. Bitdefender is an excellent AV suite, SAS is a scanner. They should not get into each other's hair.

I do, never come across any issues using them together

Thanks again Jamie, I will go ahead and try running BT and SAS together, live.

I am running Bitdefender Total Security 2013, and so far a like it a lot. The install exe, starts the downlod from the internet, which has gone smoothly, all three times that I have installe it, it doesn't seem to slow down the system much if at all, and I like the dash board. I really can't speak to how good it is, or isn't yet, as I have only run two complete scans, and they have both come back clean, and that is after donig a bit of internet work from within my Admin User Account.

Based on the info here, especially from, I will now go ahead and nstall SAS Pro, run it live, and see how thing go. Again, I have been imaging my system at each new install or major settings change, so If anything does get in, I can always go directly back to the last image.

BTW, I am using EaseUS Todo BackUp for my syestem backup imaging, and it works very simply and flawlessley. It is a great piece of freeware.

I will post back after using the multiple systems awhile.

Thanks guys.

SAS is currently struggling, and that is a massive understatement. If I were you, I would simply stick to BD 2013. It is a good suite and will serve you well.

My opinion is, it is excellent.
I do have the paid version though. It picks up things which seem to slip by Avast and SAS !

You need to decide if it is worth the extra resources, slowdowns, configuring, ect... vs the limited extra protection.

I am ruinning both right now and can't really see any slowdowns.

Correction.

When browsing, I do notice the system being very slow. I recovered the imaged back to the state before installing SAS, and it seems much snappier.
I have seen in other places where later versions of SAS are resource hogs.
How is MWB on resource utilization?

MBAM Pro (Malwarebytes Pro) is even higher on system resources than SAS when the real time protection is enabled. About 75-90MB of RAM is typical. If you want more protection look into virtualization (Sandboxie) or anti-executables (AppGuard/EXE Radar Pro). I'm not a fan of multiple real time scanners, but that's just my opinion.

I have been running Sancboxie on my older desktop, but was unsure if I should put it on this new system.
Can you speak in any deatail regarding the Pros, Cons of Sandboxie?
Is it the best Sandbox software to be using?
Thanks for the imput,
Herk

In my opinion, Sanboxie is the best virtualization software out there. It is constantly being developed and has both free and paid (life time license) versions available. The pros of SBIE are simple, it makes your machine darn near impregnable to malware infection. It's also light on system resources and doesn't need daily updates. The cons are it takes a bit of using to understand how it works. For example, I set up SBIE on both of my 70yr old parents' machines and they will still download something, close the browser (I set SBIE to delete the sandbox content automatically) and wonder why its not there............They are both getting better though.:)

I don't use an antivirus and I now use anti-executable software instead of SBIE, but that's just me.

After running BD Total Security 2013 and SAS Live together for a week or so, I have to say that I agree with you. My system becam very sluggish, so I re-imaged back to just prior to installing SAS Pro, and it was back to running like it is supposed to.

Now I am running BD Total Security 2013 with Malwarebytes Pro - Live, and all seems OK after several days.

I will post back..................
