Preparing to move from XP to 7, I saved the .exe file for Diskkeeper. I want to use it on 7. On XP, I tried to run it in the background, and leave it to do the defragging for me, but I could see a definite slowdown! Anybody having that trouble on 7?

There is really no trouble with Diskeeper at all and it is good. But I think you shall have to reinstall it all over again when you shift to Windows 7.

However Diskeeper is not free and is quite bloated. Free defraggers like Puran and Auslogics that are equally good and with very small footprints are now available so why use Diskeeper at all.
