I want to add a second drive to my computer that I'm going to use as a media center. Will windows media center automatically scan both hard drives to find media files, or is there something I'll have to do to enable this? I want to transfer files so that one drive is holding movies and the other is holding tv shows.

I'm a novice so keep it simple, if possible.

Thanks!

Welcome to SF, Terminum
It's very simple:
go into the settings of Media center and configure the drives/paths where it's supposed to look for multi media stuff
under Tasks/Settings/Media Libraries
