Running slow with network connection enabled, runs fine in Safe mode

I have a computer that would not see the hard drive a few days ago. Got a new hard drive and did a clean install of windows and restored the rest of the files with Carbonite. A few days later the computer would not boot into windows again. So this time i reformatted the new drive and stuck it into an identical PC I had.

Now its been 3 days and the computer started to run EXTREMELY slow after booting up. In safe mode its perfectly fine. I have ran multiple virus scans from malware bytes, avast and superantispyware, nothing found.

After some trial and error with turning services off I found that if i disable the local area connection in safe mode then boot into windows normally it runs fine(without the internet connection of course). I have brought the PC to a different location and even put the hard drive in the original computer and it is still having the same issue.

Any ideas on what i can try?

Is the PC very slow right away after a cold boot or does it happen over a certain amount of time?

Download | Process Explorer.

Immediately after a Cold Boot launch Process Explorer (if you have a short list,
click "Show Processes From All Users" the right most option in the top bar):

• Arrange "Working Set" (by clicking on the top of that column) Take a screenshot.
• Arrange "Private Bytes" (by clicking on the top of that column) Take a screenshot.
• Arrange "CPU" (by clicking on the top of that column) Take a screenshot.

After 30 minutes (or the maximum amount the system hold its self together):

• Arrange "Working Set" (by clicking on the top of that column) Take a screenshot.
• Arrange "Private Bytes" (by clicking on the top of that column) Take a screenshot.
• Arrange "CPU" (by clicking on the top of that column) Take a screenshot.

Upload the screenshots in a .zip file arranged in folders please.

The PC is slow almost immediately after a cold boot. As soon as I type my password in and the desktop starts coming up it is extremely slow for as long as the PC is on.

I am working on getting you those screenshots but currently its going so slow it is not even opening process explorer. One thing to add is when i first started working on this computer there was hardly anything in task manager as this is a clean install. CPU usage was at 0-1% and ram was hovering around 25% usage.

Well now it seems as long as the local area network connection is enable it doesn't want to load all the way into windows. After I type the password it usually sits at the welcome screen doing nothing.

Please provide more information about the system startup using Autoruns;

• Download Autoruns
• Run Autoruns as Administrator
• At the top go to Options> Filter Options...
  • Check these:
    
    
• Wait for the the refresh to complete.
• Click the little floppy icon at the top to before! any changes are made to save a copy of the startup, zip the file and upload it.
• 

   Warning

Disabling the wrong entry may result in Windows not booting properly or not at all!
Make sure you know what you're disabling.

Nothing suspicious on there, but I would update Java when I'd get the chance.

Now, I have another way you can approach this issue.
Shutdown the PC and physically disconnected the Ethernet cable from the PC, and boot back up.
What do you get?
Is the PC usable again?
Do you have some sort of RDP (Remote Desktop) connection configured?

If I remember correctly I tried starting it without the ethernet cable and it worked fine but wheniI get back I will try again to make sure.

I do have an unattended access of logmein rescue on there but not RDP.

This is good, that way you' be able to capture the sate of the machine before and after
it starts misbehaving. We should be able to tell whether it's RAM or CPU consumption using Process Explorer (#2)
and work from there on pinpointing the offender.

Should I start it without the cable and run process Explorer then plug the cable in and run process Explorer?

Start Process Explorer with out the cable attached then connect the cable and observe the situation.
New processes will be highlighted green for the default amount of time of 1 secondtry and write those down.
Also keep an eye on the hit-graphs (just below the menus) and report what they are doing.
Disconnect the cable and observe, what is changing?

Also please add the screenshots detailed in post #2.
