Hi guys, I guess it's time to ask for help in this one. I bought myself a new laptop around 2 years back, and it hasn't exactly worked out.

For the first year, everything went well, was pleased with and everything was dandy. Around February time though, things turned bad. After booting up quite fast, around 10 mins after being on, it suddenly would turn very VERY slow, to the point where it was unusable.

Fine, I thought, I'll have to do a clean install. Didn't help. This is where the problem lies. After a clean install, it works fine for around 3 days, then becomes sluggish again. I've run countless hardware tests, and they never turn anything up. I had Ubuntu installed for a few months, and that never experienced the problem, so it's just a windows thing. System restore also does nothing.

The laptop in question is a toshiba L300D-13s:

Toshiba L300D-13S AMD Turion X2 Laptop A1/PSLC8E-0 - Laptops Direct

Sorry for the link to the specs, but I'm typing this on my iPod because the laptop is currently unusable.

Any help would be appreciated.

GRUB can corrupt Win7. Did you wipe the HD before reinstalling Win7? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html

Google text/ID# of repeat errors in Event Viewer>Admin View to find how others have resolved them. Check also the Performance log on Advanced Tools page accessed by clicking WEI score at Computer>Properties. Look for cued issues at top of Tools page, then Generate a System Health report.

Confirm you've run memtest86 for 5-6 passes or overnight, and tested your HD using maker's full CD diag/repair scan: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

Run sfc /scannow as Admin to check System File integrity.

Clean and order your HD perfectly using state-of-the-art free CCleaner and Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers monthly.
