I am new to windows 7 and need my samba share to work. I have been sharing from HP Unix using samba to windows XP for a while. I loaded windows 7 prof - 64 bit on a machine and I cannot get the samba share to work. I have change the lmcompatabilitylevel from 1 to 2. I changed the policy "Network Security Lan Management Authenication Level" to "Send LM & NTLM responses. Of course nothing has worked.

this is still broken, I was just confirming that I had already set the options. You asked me if it was set a certain way, yes it is set that way.

I'm new to this group but knew about the "Network Security Lan Management Authenication Level" to "Send LM & NTLM responses" that is required in local polices on the Windows PC in order to map to Samba shares.

My scenario:
I'm using an AIX ( UNIX ) version of Samba to export shares that allow a Window's OS client map to them. Been doing this successfully for many years. But now, auditors are requiring me to enable "Server signing" to in my smb.conf file on my AIX server ( server signing = yes ). As soon as I do, all that could map now can not.
Anyone know what needs to happen on the Windows OS in order to map again if the Samba server is now requiring server signing ?

Thanks for any help,
