Hi All,

I have Samsung NP300E5A-A09SA. I intalled win 7 ultimate after formating C drive. Now I want to restore my notbook to factory reset.

I press F4 but factory image restore not started. I check the samsung_Rec partition, it is there with all data. I intalled Samsung recovery solution 5 and tried to start restore but it is still not working.

Then I tried win7 recovery option from control panel, it is also not working.

Please help to sort-out this problem.

Thanks,

Manzoor

Recovery will rarely run after a Reinstall unless you create a Boot menu to trigger it to run using something like this: Boot Recovery Partition using EasyBCD

But the facory install is a grossly inferior install larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7. You'll never even experience true perfect native Win7 performance until you do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Everything needed is in the blue link.

Gregrocker,

I restore my notebook as follows;

  • Installed easeus particion software
  • Give a leeter to recovery particion with this software
  • go in recovery drive \winclon\admin\winul\setup and intall samsung recovery solution 5
  • restart
  • then F4 will start working

Go to the Samsung Support Downloads webpage for your model, import the Camera software from the driver/software downloads. Make sure you have the correct driver if software is not available.

Did you do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 or Factory Recovery?

I formate the c drive and make it factory reset competely.

I also visited the samsung webpage but not found any webcam driver.

I also download new/ updated driver from web but not working.

My camera is Vimicro USB webcam (Phosphor)

I have youcam software inwhich this cam is not giving display

What camera driver is installed in Device Manager? Is it shown as not having a driver, or an Unknown Device?

Strange since Factory Recovery should put the laptop back the the exact same state as when you got it, and this is the cam that came with it, correct? If so try the Camera Driver here: Support - Laptops NP300E5AI | Samsung PCs However the cam driver is for XP so may need to be installed in Compatibility Mode .

Otherwise if you can find the exact camera model here are the drivers for Vimicro Products cams. If the make/model is not listed in Device Manager, you can trace it's exact model name/number using Hardware Identification.

Your System drive which is booting Windows should be marked System Active. Post back a screenshot if you want us to look it over for you. What makes you think you have a hidden Recovery partition on the drive? It should be seen in Disk mgmt, or try free Partition Wizard.

I can't assign a letter for my recovery partition! I attached a screenshot.

Those partitions are not meant to have letters assigned so that nothing can be written to foul them.

What exactly is it that you need to do? Boot your Recovery partition? Have you tried the hotkey meant to boot it? If that fails have you tried Marking Recovery Partition Active?

Keep in mind that the Recovery partition only reinstalls the bloated factory install which most tech enthusiasts will not even run. I'd consider deleting all partitions to do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

I'm trying to do the following:

P.S.: I would like to do the factory install because it has all the nessesary drivers and utilities. I can always uninstall anything unnessesary!

Windows 7 is a driver-complete OS in the installer and via Windows Updates once you get online after install. You will only need a few drivers from Samsung's Support Downloads webpage after all Updates are installed.

This provides a much cleaner installation than the factory recovery which corrupts the OS even if you uninstall all of the unnecessary bloatware which interferes with better versions built into Win7.

You only need your Network driver in your backup in case it isn't provided during the Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If you cannot get Recovery to run then your only other choice is to order Recovery disks from Samsung which will actually charge you for the worst install of Win7 one can possibly have. Why not the best?

I need whole bunch of utilities from Samsung just to make my special functions buttons to work, and I don't know where to find them online. I can't even see if I'm turning Num Lock and Caps Lock on or off when I press it without them! Is it possible to do what Manzoor is talking about with Disk mgmt. utility or I have to install easeus partition software?

P.S.: after all windows 7 is not that great at all - if it was up to me I would use 64-bit XP, but I want to keep this computer the way it meant to be! Please help me!

The function buttons on Samsung are dealt with in the Special Note for Samsung Owners at the end of the tutorial.

After following those steps, let us now if there is anything else as we are here to help.

I did it via command prompt using diskpart utility!

Exactly how did you do this?

And which Samsung utilities had you already installed?

Which are installed now?

Please, at least let other users know what you did to solve your problem ... There may be others with the same problem, that are waiting for your solution. Dont be a hit and run, share so that others can benefit the same as you have...

Please add your SF Systems Specs by following this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html
  • In the System Manufacturer/Model Number field, manually type Desktop or Laptop adding it to the information already in the field.
  • Specify Custom Build as the manufacturer if it is not an OEM machine.
  • The tool does not fill in this information but it is very important if someone has to research drivers or hardware for your machine.
Log on to Sevenforums (SF) and let the tool fill in you System specs on your SF profile.

Full instructions are in the tutorial. It's a simple process and it makes that information readily available on your posts. You don't have to retype the information in any thread.

Click here to view your system specs on SevenForums.

Click on My System Specs in the lower left of any post by any member to see what is presented about their machine.

There seem to be a few Samsung Recovery software packages (III, 4, & 5). The specs will help provide the correct package to use.
See the search results on Samsung for recovery discs

Once you know the correct package, you should make a set of Samsung Recovery discs (backup) now in case you lose the opportunity to do that by changing how the HDD is partitioned.
