Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy a SSD, the intel ones are too expensive, so i can choose between those 2.

As far as i know the Samsung is superior but some recent issues have started worrying me.

Samsung TRIM error could be wiping data

The 256Gb model is not listed though, i'm planning to use it on windows.

Any suggestions? complaints? Thanks in advance.

I was planning to wait for the 860 series but apparently those are not gonna happen this year (at least not next month). 850 pro series are almost 1 year old.

I have the 128GB and so far no issues. Here's a test from Anadtech on the 850 Pro Testing Samsung 850 Pro Endurance & Measuring V-NAND Die Size

This is a quote from the article:
I found that the current WLC value drops by one after 60 P/E cycles (I ran the test over multiple WLC drops), which suggests that the WLC will drop to zero after 6,000 P/E cycles. In other words, the V-NAND in 850 Pro is good for 6,000 P/E cycles, which is twice the cycle count of modern 2D MLC NAND but quite far away from Samsung's "ten times the endurance" claims. Either Samsung is using lower binned parts in the 850 Pro (i.e. saving the 30,000 P/E cycle parts for enterprise drives) or the WLC value has artificially been limited to ensure that enterprises do not use the 850 Pro and pay the premium for the 845DC EVO/Pro instead.

I have an Intel 520 and a Samsung 850 EVO and they're both quality. You'll be good with Samsung.

Well i just went the Samsung way i just hope the thing is reliable, i'm getting the SSD next week, I've been using a hybrid array SSD Samsung 830 + HDD Seagate (RAID 0) for the last 3 years and the thing is SOLID, not a single issue regarding losing data.

Now the setting will be different full SSD and trim included... I can't stand installing windows 7 anymore is just slow...but i know this will solve that issue.
