I am talking about the ones today from AS SSD, they should be better if everything is working right, which according to ATTO, it is. It is interesting that it shows you are running a different firmware than you were yesterday, as I am not aware of any firmware other than what 99% of us are running....

Here is a test I just ran with the firmware noted.

Ok, I just looked on Samsung's website and it looks like the firmware listed on your AS SSD snippet is the same as mine, I've just never seen that particular output. Another factor is what SATA controller driver you are running...msahci in the AS SSD results. If I am not mistaken, that is the generic Microsoft AHCI controller. Some people have better luck going to the Intel AHCI controller....iaStor on my AS SSD results.

I would suggest trying Intel's AHCI controller instead of the Microsoft one....(I'm sure there is a guide on here to do that) At the end of the day, it is your drive. It was your money, and it's your computer. If you can live without a SSD for a week or so, go ahead and RMA it. I say that because if there IS a problem with it, you are taking care of it before the RMA window passes you by. I can't put my finger on the problem so I don't know if things just got screwy or something internally is wrong. That would answer your question fully.

The only problem is, if there is nothing really wrong with the drive, they will inspect it and charge me.

I have a little while before the 30 day warranty to the Amazon supplier runs out.
I'll keep my eye on it.

I'm not sure they will inspect it and charge you. Amazon can't do it, Samsung would be the one to test it. That being said, Samsung doesn't have your system and they can't account for the variables. If they get it back and it works for them, so be it. If you RMA it, you send yours in, they send one back and that's that. That is how my experience with Newegg was anyway, and I sent back TWO Intel SSD's!

If you want the IaStor driver, go to Asus website and find the drivers for your board. You will want the IRST (Intel Rapid Storage ) Driver. It is Intel's Raid driver but contains the IaStor Intel AHCI driver. And no, just because you install the raid driver does not mean you need to run raid. Just leave your bios like it is.

Once installed it will be your AHCI driver.

Do you have a browser designated as your default browser? Chrome, Firefox, IE?

I have Firefox set as default and it worked before.
