Screen Saver and Sleep Mode not Working?

Have a bit of a problem and need help! I'm running Win7 64bit and for some reason, in the last couple of days, the Screen Saver and Sleep Mode are not working. I have Screen Saver set to start in 10 minutes and Sleep Mode to start in 30 minutes (been that way for years). Neither one is starting now. I checked the settings and they are as they should be. I manually tested Screen Saver in the Personalize Box and it test just fine!

What could be causing these two items not to Start as scheduled in there, and what might be possible fixes?

Sounds to me like a program(s) running in the background could be the cause of these 2 items not working the way they should be. When you are done with the system for the day etc; make sure you exit all programs completely. Try that and see if it starts working the way it should again. If not post back
