Screensaver not working in sleep mode

I recently purchased a Lenovo & when I put it into sleep mode, the screensaver doesn't run. I have checked my settings & everything seems to be ok, but I am technologically challenged! Any help would be appreciated.

Screensaver doesn't run in sleep mode because it pauses the system operation.

Screensaver only work when system is idle and not sleeping.

Hence the term Sleep.

Right the screen saver or the feature/option to turn the screen off at a pre-difined time doesn't work in SLEEP MODE.

Sleep mode puts the system to SLEEP, IE in a Near OFF STATE. What you are asking is akin to "Why can't I cook Breakfast for myself before I wake up in the morning". Because you are Asleep.

While I do appreciate the quick responses, I am not a complete moron. My previous computers had Vista & XP for operating systems & the screen savers ran in both while in sleep mode. I naturally made the assumption that it was either a Windows 7 change or it was a Lenovo quirk.

I take it you don't think what we are saying is the truth?

If so then please do a Google search for the meaning of Sleep Mode.

I did that, found nothing on having a screensaver run while in sleep mode. Strange.
