Greetings,
I am back to try again and fix my old Seagate 1tb external Harddrive. It has been broken for many years and I want to give it another try.
So the problem is that I can plug it in and the light on the HDD comes on and i hear it spinning (no clicking or loud odd sounds) and it shows up in the device manager, but does NOT show up in my disk management.
I tried plugging it into a different usb port and tried to update the driver and uninstall the device. I cant uninstall the device because it just endlessly hangs in the uninstall screen.
I believe last time I used a separate program to find the HDD and showed as Unallocated. But that was many years ago so Im sure there are different programs to try now.
I have not opened it up yet. But if its an actual hardware problem, i would be willing to open it and try fixing it myself.
