Hello all,
So about a month ago (and without warning) my 1TB Seagate External HDD (I believe it's a Seagate ST1000LM) began to freeze and hang when trying to open files on it. My PC still recognizes the drive and I can view the files, but any time I try to open them or copy them onto a different drive, it freezes and hangs. The files on it aren't too significant (movies and games), but I would like to recover as much of them as I can.
I've tried using diskcheck, but it freezes whenever I try to run it on the drive. I've tried recovery software like EaseUs and Acronis True Image to try to back up the drive, but they too have frozen while trying to recover data. I've also tried adjusting the Power settings so the drive won't turn off, but that did nothing.
I just want to see if there is any way I can get these files off of this drive.
