I purchased a 2TB Seagate GoFlex Desk External HDD and Windows did not auto-detect it. So I went under Device Manager and under Other Devices, the Seagate drive was listed with the yellow exclamation. It shows that the driver is not found. I had windows search online and it found nothing. The only way I know to get it back is to do a repair/restore of windows. I am afraid to do this as I have to much to risk losing. Is there any other way to obtain this driver.

PS:

I plugged the device into another computer also running Windows 7 (only home not pro) and it auto-detected right away. So I know for sure the device works.
My computer though is most definitely missing the driver.

Just a thought. If I have another computer running the same OS, just home not pro, and it recognizes the drive, is there a way to tell what driver it is using? If so, can I just copy the driver to my computer?

One more thought. What if I try and download some chipsets?

Similar Problem with 1TB Go Flex Home,
Run Win 7 Home Prem. can't detect drive, this thing has put me through the wringer. Just thought I'd add in case of future class action.
Picked it up on Vista, which came and went like cars on a highway... Expensive paper weight at this point!

I'm sorry, but I can't help either. I have a 1 tb Seagate GoFlex external. It works with both my Vista home premium desktop and my Win7 home premium 64-bit laptop and has done so since I got it.

Hmmm... frustrating issue no doubt. What chipset and bios version are you running? Do you have the general storage controller drivers installed properly? Is there anything else showing up as problematic, or is this the only issue?

I was having the same problems with my GFH 1TB for over a year. I finally got it back up and running again......Or I should say I'm able to locate it now. So I'm able to use it. This is how I fixed the little SOB....lol
Something worth mentioning, This will flash your GFH resetting Admin Account, unless you use the same User Name and Password when you set it up, you won't have access to the files under that account. So if you forgot the sign up info you used to install it the first time...........The info is still there, just unable to access it.. In my case I didn't purchase MEMO, being my trial period ended I'm left using Seagate Share, which is also a trial.....LMFAO they should pay me for the trouble this thing has caused me..... But with out further ado......or something like that...lol heres the instructions. These are from Seagate Support under GFH Trouble Shooting.

These instructions will reflash your GoFlex Home to factory, requiring you to re-configure the device.
Steps:
Download the http://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads-axentra-com/seagate/goflex/goflex_2_7_1_firmware.zip firmware ZIP file containing the GoFlex Home firmware.
Format a USB key with FAT32
Extract the Zipped files to the USB key at the root level. No other files should exist on the USB key.
Gracefully remove the USB key from the PC and insert into the GoFlex Home's USB connector.
Power off your GoFlex Home, ensure power cord and Ethernet are still connected.
Remove the hard disk from the GoFlex Home.
With your GoFlex Home powered off, press the Power button and hold the Reset pin. The green light will blink immediately, followed by the white light. Release the reset pin and wait for the device to complete booting and obtains a steady green light (approximately 3-4 minutes)
Your device should now be reflashed, remove the USB key and continue with Setup
To recover your data, simply re-create the previous user accounts.

My first attempt I saved this file to a USB Key then extracted, which won't work (I didn't understand what root level meant) As soon as I re formatted the USB Key again Fat32, downloaded the file to my Computer and Extracted it to the USB Key following the rest of the directions worked like a charm! Thanks to Kenji on another Forum for helping me...

Hope this works for you, it may have won a few battles but it didn't win the war! lol
