I pulled two Seagate hard drives out of my older PC's (32-bit) and would like to be able to read them on my new PC. However, I cannot get my new PC (64-bit) to recognize them. It recognizes a Maxtor and another Seagate just fine, but not these two in question. They are as follows... Seagate, Barracuda 7200.8, 200 GB, 7200 RPM, both are model #ST3200826A. What's crazy is, I see that my PC recognizes them in "Computer Management/Disk Management" for a while, then it disappears. It doesn't give me the chance of assigning a drive letter to them. When I open up Disk Management, I don't see these hard drives. BTW, I am using an "adapter", in other words... the hard drive is laying in front of me and I can plug/unplug it as needed for testing. These are IDE, not SATA hard drives. I have changed the jumpers on the hard drives from, initially "master" to "slave" then to "cable select" without any luck. Please advise.
