I'm REALLY surprised you haven't been jumped on by numerous Windows pros telling you how wrong you are. Every time I've made the same complaint, I've been told that I'm the problem. Not using indexing, not search properly, etc.
I collect student papers via a downloaded zip file. I just want to be able to extract the zip folder and search by file title. Works perfectly in XP. But just as you illustrate in Win 7, I can't find files that exist. I shouldn't need to index a file that is only temporary
I wish the various MVP's would actually acknowledge that there is an issue, rather than beat up anyone who finds fault the the design decisions made in reworking the search. I'd settle for a "simple search" addon that worked.
