how do i get rid of this search engine , it came via smiles , i have uninstalled it in my add ons , removed via add and remove programs , just cant get rid of it what software would get rid of it , any help would be grateful thanks

Have you tried Revo Uninstaller? It's a great uninstalling program. Sounds like it could be a virus or something also, so I would run a virus scan.

Please update your anti virus, Install Malwarebytes Anti Malware and Super Anti Spyware. Up date both and run them. MAM and SAS are free. Both are on demand only when there free. You will have to tell them to update and to run. Run all three one at a time. Doing these things might take care of your problem or just be the start of working on your problem. Let us know what happens.

i ran malwarebytes , superantispyware etc and it still would not come off , system restore took it of , happy days :)

Either use a system restorepoint from before you installed it or try HijackThis
The problem is most likely a BHO (browser "help" object)
Just don't click around and don't let the program fix the problem unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing...
At least set a restore point (b/c the fixes alter your registry)
rather post back the given log file.
