Hey basicaly im a noob when it comes to win 7 not had a need to use windows for a while but recently had the urge to game on my pc again

I have a 250gb hard drive which i have windows 7 and ubuntu installed onto and a 1tb and a 1.5tb hard drive formated in ntfs(from when i ran mainly xp)

The disk drives dont show up in my computer but they do show up in disk management however they show as black(unallocated) despite the fact i know that is is allocated and has stuff on which i can still access via ubuntu and i cant assign them a label i know that they definatly work and are in ntfs format as i double checked this through ubuntu im sure its a simple fix but googling hasnt seemed to have turned it up yet :s

Thanks in advance

If its showing all space in black, I believe thats Unallocated Space.

In Disk Management:
Right click and create a partition (whatever size you want and however many you want)
just follow the prompts and it will guide you through setting it up.

Check in your bios and make sure that those drives are enabled.

Sounds like the partition or format type on your drive is not compatible with Windows 7. Put the drive into a Windows XP machine if it is accessible double check the drive is FAT32 or NTFS if it is not convert it to NTFS. Make sure you set the permissions to EVERYONE FULL on the drive before you take it to the Windows 7 machine or you will have to take ownership of the whole drive.

It was in ntfs and the dirvers were working fine otherwise it wouldnt work in ubuntu os i think it was just some wierd bug from the partions been done through an old xp or something i just shoved everything onto spare hard drives i had and reformated just seems silly that it was ntfs and wouldnt get recognised
