Hello team:

I recieved today the following email and would like to know if Microsoft sent emails of this nature. I am quite concerned since I have been getting the calls with "Indian accents" trying to access my computer, which by the way has been quite slow and frozes often lately. My knowledge of computer issues is limited therefore please provide instructions in simple terms if needed. Thanks a lot. AG

Never click on a link you get in an E Mail saying you need to go to this site & update your info. Some of these sites are well crafted to look exactly like the real site. What usually happens is once you enter your info & click on the submit button, you'll get some sort of error message, but at that point it's too late, your info has been sent to the scammers.

Definitely not from Microsoft. Delete any such emails. About the calls, either tell them you use Apple, don't have a computer, or hang up ...or waste as much of their time as possible by pretending to do exactly what they ask for, then say it does not work, the computer shut down, the screen went black, green smoke coming out of the fan vent, ask them to wait while you give food to the dog etc, and see how long you can keep them on the phone before they realize.

About the pc being slow\freezing, maybe make a new post about it in one of the appropriate forum sections.

Good luck.
