As Layback Bear mentioned in step #3 in post #2, the only truly safe thing to do is to format and reinstall Windows.
Although there is some time/effort involved, it's the only way to regain peace of mind.
Otherwise, you will never know what might have been planted on the system and whether you can trust the system with financial transactions and sensitive/personal data.
If you need help reinstalling Windows, there are many fine tutorials and kind/smart folks here who can assist you with the project.
Second-best, by a long-shot, would be to get some expert help from a trained malware removal helper to run a range of deep scans, looking for hidden malware.
The choice depends on your risk tolerance.
Thanks again for sharing your story -- it was a potent reminder to everyone that bad things can happen to anyone in blink of an eye or a click of a mouse.
