cannot attribute to any particular activity. Have tried with most external USB peripherals unplugged and or plugged in different ports.

I can live with once a week, but once or more a day is becoming problematic.

Should I 'cleanup' older info at some point? Also, if still looks like video issues, I am willing to put in a Video card (am shopping now and appropriate ones only 30/40 bucks). Currently running on built in Intel video.

Update the Realtek network driver from here:
Realtek

The Intel card still shows as a problem, even through the driver appears updated. Leave that for now and lets make sure the network drivers are fixed.

Don't worry about cleaning our older .dmp's at this stage, I can sort through that.

Uninstalled Jakstra
'repaired' Realtek and observed that an updated driver was installed during 'repair' process.
by the way, thanks
will advise if/when another BSOD. How long without one warrants a 'solved' state??

I am going to assume 5 or 10 minutes does NOT equal 'solved'.
I had NOT rebooted after uninstalling Jakstra and updating Realtek, which may be an issue??

A new thing happened at BSOD, it said something about 'file to small...' switching to mini dump

Repairing the Realtek driver isn't the way to go, as seen by the date of the driver. You must download and install a new driver.

When I did 'repair', it was with freshly downloaded install package and I did observe 'new driver install' during the process, with the 7/15/2014 date just sayin'.
I have now UNINSTALLED driver and REINSTALLED with same package which contains a 'rt64win7.sys' file with modified date of 7/15/2014.
will reboot and cross fingers

p.s. occasionally running WTP (installed on a separate drive) and, so far, BSOD, has not occurred. Note that not all the same programs are installed on the WTP system, yet.

a) BIOS bug
b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...)

my PSU is 300w, just ordered a 500w upgrade PSU

reminder:
have not had BSOD when running on WTP (which does not have all the same software yet)

and in W7HP, I don't think I have had one when Firefox and/or Chrome not open, though they normally are.

Now that is an information. If possible change the order for a 600W one.

300W PSU is never enough for any desktop. But the branded PC Manufacturers dont care. They can do it as the customers go behind brand-names without judging what they are getting against their money.

Let us know the situation after applying the replacement PSU. No further troubleshooting is meaningful before that.

Is the case specious enough?

is it, "misleading in appearance, especially misleadingly attractive" enough? Maybe not. Is it spacious enough? For what? For the 500w PSU made to fit it, yes. For anything larger, probably not.

I have had one crash since PSU upgrade, but I was on my WTP system/drive at the time. Been up on 7 for an hour or two, but I don't think the PSU was the issue. (I'd love to be wrong though)
