Greetings. When I use the default Send To Compressed (zipped) folder contextual menu command, I would like to be able to choose where to create the archive instead of it always being placed on the desktop. I often want the destination to be an external drive. Is it possible to create a Send To item that will allow this? Thanks for any assistance that you might offer. GH

Hello GH, and welcome to Seven Forums.

By default, the compressed (zipped) folder is always created at the same location as the file(s) that you are zipping.

I'm not sure that could be changed. As a workaround, you could use the Move to Folder option from the tutorial below after creating the ZIP folder to move it like that to where you want.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks, Shawn, for the welcome and the suggestion. I guess I'll continue as I always have, by creating the zip file and then using the Send to menu where the attached drives show up automatically. I was just hoping to eliminate the step of creating the zip file and then deleting it after it's copied to the other drive. I appreciate your feedback!

You're welcome. Using the "Move to Folder" option would eliminate having to delete the ZIP file from say the desktop since it would actually move instead of copy it to the location of your choice if that helps some.

I didn't realize that. Thanks again! :D
