Setting up an HP DesignJet 750c Plus on Win 7 64-Bit using HP's U.P.D.

Here's my Equipment info:
I'M running a Laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS
The Printer is an HP DesignJet 750c Plus plotter.
I have downloaded the latest U.P.D.'s, v5.4 for 64-bit Windows 7, from HP. I'm not sure which of the 3 drivers to use.
I'm also running an Linksys E2000 Router and an HP External DirectJet Plus (2591A).

What I'm looking for is this:
How to make the plotter work in this environment. I have a HP-5000 LaserJet using the U.P.D.(v5.3) thru the router and it works fine. It's just that the DesignJet is giving me issues... So I'm looking for suggestions from someone else, hoping that they would have a different point of view.

Driver pl532en works for HP DesignJet 750C+ on Windows 7 (64 bit).

I am trying this same setup with my laptop without a lot of success. I have one added problem that I don't know if it is part of my problem or not. The laptop has not got a paralelle port on it. As a result I have installed a parallel to usb converter. the driver seems to be installed fine but when I try to send a plot nothing happens- the plotter is not recieving anything.

I had the same problem with a USB to parallel port converter. I used an HP JetDirect network card in the plotter to connect to the Ethernet port on my laptop. After that, the driver pl532en worked well.

Jet Direct Card

Thanks for the help I think that I will try that. What is the model number of the Jet Direct card that you used for this

I bought the JetDirect 400n card (on eBay).
With the latest firmware (upgradable online) it supports a web interface.
The IP address is settable via the interface on the front of the HP DesignJet 750C. I used IP address 192.168.1.50 with mask 255.255.255.0

Driver pl532en works very well with the HP Designjet 750C.
