Setting up DDWRT for PPPoE Connection

I was looking for someone to help me with setting up a DDWRT Router for a PPPoE connection

Here are some details...
Router: Linksys WRT54G2
Connection: Verizon DSL (PPoE of course)
Current Router: Actiontec something (from 2005)...rather old

That WRT54G2 is a rather good router...much better than my Actiontec so I was hoping to use it to boost my signal in my house. I know I will have to continue to use the Actiontec but I am unsure of how to get the WRT54G2 to get and broadcast the internet signal from the actiontec

Ideas are welcomed

The ActionTec is a wireless router but not a good one at that...

The only thing plugged into the ActionTec is a PS3 and a 360

I am guessing that I need the WRT54G2 to be a router only and the Actiontec to be a gateway

You can have the ActionTec be a wired router and have it feed the Linksys no problem - all your wireless traffic would be through the Linksys, so unless the ActionTec is bottle necking your connection completely (both wired and wireless) it would work just fine.

We do it at school all the time - the DHCP servers provide a local wireless router with an IP, and then the wireless router provides DHCP services to wireless clients....

Are any specific settings required in DDWRT to allow the traffic from the Actiontec?

As far as that, um, I cannot help you there - my understanding was that DD-WRT was a highly configurable firewall / router, but basic operation was pretty much plug and play.

I could be complete wrong, and the DD-WRT forums would be an excellent source of info....

All of my routers are D-Links, so I have to forgo DD-WRT....
