I am experiencing an unbearable amount of BSODs with what seems to be different culprits daily. If I am watching youtube in chrome it will sometimes crash. If I leave the computer on for longer than a couple hours while not using it I come back to a reboot and a BSOD notice. Tried updating the graphics driver but no help. Updated all Microsoft packages and no luck.

Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
Graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 4600

Thanks for any help or pointers in the right direction.

Here is my Log information:

Hi Extreme,

Notice comp was infected, X3, in December, is this when the BSOD's started?

I see you installed MBAM to help out, ITS NOT an AV, but MSE is having problems
(it was trying X8 to update when 1 of the BSOD's occurred)

Run
Eset on line scan, dissable MSE while its running
Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scan from ESET | ESET

The BSOD's boys like a CLEAN system and only to have MSE running during troubleshooting,
me im just nosey:)

download
a new version of MSE to your desktop,
also these
Junkware Removal Tool Download
AdwCleaner Download
Chrome Cleanup Tool Download
run the 3 above, clean any items found
Optional see comment below(1)
Thank you for downloading Avast antivirus software

Uninstall MSE

REBOOT

install MSE

(1) if this were my comp i would also perform a PRE BOOT scan using Avast

Thanks torchwood I did all those things including the Avast. ESET did find on malicious file it removed but everything else came up clean. I will give it a couple of days and see if the BSOD improves. Would you recommend avast over MSE for the long haul? I like MSE because of how lightweight it is but maybe Avast is a better option?

Hi lamordnt,
Av's on 7 are more of a personal choice, But as i said the BSOD boys prefer it during troubleshooting, so stay with it for the moment.
If you want to go "light" afterwards my free choices would be either Bitdefender or Panda as they DONT have built-in extras, they run in the background just like MSE.

As a matter of interest what did Eset pick-up, will also help the boys.

Please repost the logs after, (hopefully not), the next BSOD.

Another BSOD

I had another BSOD yesterday. I believe it was triggered possibly by Avast at the end of a full scan. Here is the file:

Ran memtest86+, no errors

Ran the memtest overnight, no errors. Any other thoughts? I will post additional logs if I get more BSODs today.
