Hello Powell and welcome!

- I'm not quite following here, are you getting any BSOD? If so, be sure to enable minidumps by doing this:
Go to Start and type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery Settings button
Ensure that "Automatically restart" is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select "Small memory dump (64 kB)" in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as "%systemroot%\Minidump" (without the quotes)
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.
Thank you for your attention.
Fred.

Hello FredeGail and many thanks for your reply. I'm sorry I took so long to reply but I have been trying to resolve a whole batch of problems with this version of windows 7 which came preinstalled on my new computer. Thers are so many it would take an hour just to list them. Since the criminals at Dell will no longer provide a Windows reinstallation disk (you have to set up a recovery disk using Dell's backup system) and since it's obvious that the version that was installed was corrupted, and since the only way they will provide support is by letting them have access to my computer (I tried that once with Vista and spent two weeks fighting their legal department to get rid of the advertising junk they installed.), and since I won't fall for that scam again, I have ordered a stand alone copy of Windows 7. and will never have to deal with Dell again
Once again, I thank you for your efforts.

Regards
Powell Lucas

P.S. It was only the new hardware I wanted as my old system had reached the four year limit I allow.
