Solved SFC errors immediately after Factory Install

Many, many Windows Updates were failing, so I ran SFC /scannnow and saw that there were errors that couldn't be fixed.

So, I did a factory image restore to fix it. I then ran SFC again and saw that there were still errors that couldn't be fixed. I don't understand how that is possible, but I don't know anything about SFC.

I am just trying to get a good clean working machine that can install Windows Updates. Can someone please review the SFC results and advise how to proceed?

I have tried HP numerous times, but their support staff don't seem to know anything.

Please help!

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums ... Seems like your Factory Install has become corrupt ..

Read the Tutorial below to do a Clean Install .. It contains every thing you need including the ISO ...

Thanks for the reply. I also tried installing from the HP Recovery disks and that failed. HP now says that the hard drive needs to be replaced again (after they replaced it less than a week ago) as well as the motherboard. This is a 2 year old machine.

Did you Test the Hard Drive ? ... It must still be under Warranty ..

Yes, I ran chkdsk as well as all of the HP System Diagnostics. They all passed. When I tried to reinstall using the HP Recovery Disks, it ran for 2.5 hours and hung for 30 minutes on "HP Software installation", so it was never able to complete the recovery process successfully. The machine only had a 1 year warranty, so I had to pay HP for repair. This is the second time I have to send it to them since the first repair obviously was not repaired. They probably repaired it with defective components. I definitely will not buy from HP again.
