sfc Results?

I WAS having a lot of problems with my machine running Windows 7 (pro). These problems included random system crashes and once in a while a BSOD. Nothing serious (that I can tell anyway <grin>). I ran the All-In-One repair tool from Tweaking.com. That fixed most everything (no more BSOD's & much improved over all performance). I'm still having issues but now it's just annoying not critical (I think). I ran sfc /scannow and got "errors in system files". sfc could not repair them. I don't have the exact errors, if someone needs those error names let me know and I'll get them. I did, however, attach my CBS.log. If someone needs anything more. let me know.

I apologize if this is posted in an incorrect area. If anyone has time to look at this I would sincerely appreciate it.

Dusty mate sfc is best run for three runs usually and have you tried this

Option 5 launches sfc /scannow
Option 6 launches Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Option 7 launches Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Option 8 launhes Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Personally I'm not great at SFC errors. All I know is that on my machine if I run SFC it will always report some errors because i have modified some system files and they will not match the originals so the errors are nothing to worry about. Also unless problems are being caused by corrupted system files running SFC won't fix anything.

If SFC is allowed to fix everything it finds it is possible that the user will lose any custom themes and other custom changes they've made.

Like I said I'm no expert on SFC but do know that it is a good idea to either upload the log or post sections of concern for experts here to look at as some apparent errors may not even be a problem at all.

Just my personal choice but if I suspected a corrupt system file was causing a problem I'd only run Option Two Step 3 in the above tutorial.

Yep and just another two cents worth I saw recently sfc is usually best run for three runs and it has worked for me on a few occasions of errors being found.

The chkdsk did you run it yet?

Oops mentioned that before must be getting forgetful.

Could you do a fresh run of SFC and post the CBS log?:

SFC Scan
1. Click on Start

and type cmd. When Command Prompt appears, right-click on it, and click Run as Administrator
2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

sfc /scannow

3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.

copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Right-click on this file and choose Send To...Compressed (zipped folder). Please upload this zipped file CBS.zip to this thread
