hello everybody
i decided to start a new thread about this corrupted files saga that is on-going.firstly can i say a big thank-you to torchwood for some great advice regarding the updates.as per advice i deleted 3126446 and 3022345.i also changed the download & install method.firstly i changed from automatically install to download & let me choose but that didn't work because yesterday i got a notice for 2 important updates one of which was 3126446 which i de-selected.i installed the other and rebooted.when i was closing down i had the icon for an update(which i installed) and when i opened up my computer and checked there was 3126446 so i changed the selection to let me choose to download and install( how do i know?)sorry to go on and on about this but i also wondered if anyone got to look at the most recent log files i posted(sfc+sur) in the previous thread and if so is there anything new showing up there.thanks again for all your patience with me.

kudos

Hello mate look I do not download anything personally unless I am 100% certain it is necessary because of the rot with the 10 stuff.

You should also set the update settings as in my pic

If you are concerned about the 10 updates run the batch file from this Upgrade to Windows 10 Update - Enable or Disable in Windows 7 or 8.1 - Windows 10 Forums
that will stop any auto upgrade to 10 and I use this all the time because 10 crap gets through on the back of quite innocuous looking updates
Ultimate Outsider - Software Downloads < you only need the Control Panel software from here - I keep it as a run icon on my desktop and run it almost every day.

One last thing you mentioned MuckAfee - something you could not give me I would change to something else but the choice is as always yours of course.
There are some good free ones here Free Windows Desktop Software Security List | Gizmo's Freeware use the real time listings but not AVG and if you do get rid of the McAfee then make sure you use the removal tool for it not the Control Panel feature only.

hi to the forum:

thank you ICIT2LOL. what a really amazing and informative thread.i have implemented (i think) your advice on this download crap.your advice on the win10 downloads is invaluable and as for your link to Ultimate Outsider well that is just incredible.i implemented your advice and VOILLA win10 is gone-not a trace.no stupid pop-ups or anything else.i am very much inclined to agree with you about "Muckafee" dont seem to do much as regards BLOCKING anything(long story maybe some other time, or not).i tend to rely on Malwarebytes.once again thank you mate for ALL your invaluable advice it is so appreciated.you guys are so informed.AWESOME.
kindest regards

That is no problem and well just another little something for you if you want to get a bit more out of your 7 install work through this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11728-optimize-windows-7-a.html very simple things to do and you will appreciate the difference it makes if you don't mind losing soem of the "bling" like transparency (never could see the point of it apart from being a flashy add on)

Yep well Malwarebytes is good and this also as an add on ad hoc scanner
SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!

if you get into real trouble this uis another free scanner for the difficult stuff

AdwCleaner Download
delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If one is running Kaspersky security it may rant about ADW - just ignore it or disable Kaspersky while the ADW is being used)

If you are not using this then it is worth using each day or so to keep the clutter down CCleaner - Free Download - Piriform < now when you do the analyse go Analyse (when done) > Options > Cookies - see my pics (may not be in order) for what to do next before going back the the brush and running the cleaner.
Want any more help just ask oh by the way most of us use this software.

One last thing download and run this https://unchecky.com/ before you start any downloads to stop add on programs being accidentally loaded while installing stuff like Adobe for example :)
