Solved sfc/scannow some files could not be fixed

Hi to the forum:

I am starting a new thread on this sfc/scannow topic because i have encountered a whole new problem.originally i posted about the scan detecting corrupt files but could not fix them.i was advised to do a REPAIR INSTALL which tonight i finally got around to trying having got a loan disc(my system came with pre-installed win7)from a friend.i inserted the disc but "set-up.exe"failed to appear after waiting several minutes.i clicked on DVD drive and my option was run as administrator which i did----still nothing.it "whirred and chucked" but no message to advance(i tried this many times)still same result.totally frustrated i reverted to trying a restore point but apparently they are all on the HDD which is out of order.among the restore points was the following: which i do not understand because nothing happened.i am really depending on you guys to sort me out (again).thank you for all your magnificent help in the past few weeks.

Did you run sfc three times in a row restarting between each new rerun ?
If not do so then post the report

Hello recycler mate what system did this machine come with?? If it came with 7 preinstalled then it should have a factory reset option but that does wipe all the data and leaves the machine as it came out of the factory and you will need to reinstall all programs etc

many thanks guys (thrashzone & ICIT2LOL) for your prompt and helpful replies.really appreciate the video.as far as the sfc/scannow feature goes i have done this for you and i am posting it here for you.i have done this about three times before and get the same message every time(some files could not be repaired).well at least it dont hurt to do it i guess.what i still cannot understand is why my repair install disc failed to run as per your forum's tutorial.tonight i did it as requested three times and rebooting after each one.View attachment 384547

forgot to mention that yes it did come with win7 pre-installed SP1.and yes it does have the samsung recovery 5 tools built in.i was leaving that as a last resort but may have no option since my repair install dont seem to be doing the job.i live in hope though that one of you experts will save the day.

It's a Windows update
it's BIG - carries cab files to do the repairs
it runs when installed
it take a good amount of time, so plan accordingly

Just let the update install / run until it finishes - the installing update window is done - no other indication

The output is in the CBS log

There are a few language issues in your current CBS log that can be ignored, but other corruption exists and needs a bigger hammer to fix - System Update Readiness tool (Checksur)

Then run SFC /scannow again.

Many thanks Slartybart for your reply,it is really appreciated.just checked on the enclosed link which applies to KB947821.i have to tell you this that a short time back i downloaded it but all to no avail.i came across it while trying to educate myself on this matter.the upshot of all this is that i got fed up after trying different things so i did a factory restore which solved all my problems.i am now in the process of restoring my "stuff" and keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well.can i say again how helpful and professional you guys who run this forum are.i am just sorry that i had to resort to restoring my machine because there is a lot of stuff on there.no doubt i will have to call on you guys again if i run into any problems.
