Hello,

I have a network with multiple OS machines (around 20), sharing files from windows 7 home device.

There is no problem viewing/editing files by other windows 7 machines, the problem that sometimes (3-5 times a day) windows XP machines stops from being able to access the shared files and I have to restart the machine (the sharing device) so that windows XP be able to access it again.

I don't know if the sharing device windows version is the reason of all this or not ! Is it related to the number of computers trying to access it in the same time ?

The weird thing is, win7 devices never faced a problem access files on that win7 home, even at the time when winXP devices stop from being able to access it.

Any ideas how to fix this ? :sarc:

Thx

Welcome to Seven Forums,

You may start with disabling the Power Management on the XP computers - see attached image.

Also, change the Speed & Duplex of your NIC, fiddle with the setting - see attached image.
