ShellWin is a Tool designed to partially hide the Taskbar except the Start Button allowing you to keep the Start-button visible while running applications at full screen, it also acts like a Window Manger with a Run-box.



Hide: Hides the Taskbar.
Show: Shows the TaskBar.

The last item the ComboBox is dual-purpose, It lists open applications and when you select an item it un-minimizes the window and brings it to the foreground and also doubles as a run-box, by entering something such as CMD and pressing enter it will execute the application.

Its also possible to hide other specific parts of the TaskBar like Notification Tray, Ill make that possible in the next version

Although not a problem, if you have say, your browser open and maximized, and you hide, you have to either drag and snap or restore down, then Maximize to get it to fully maximize to the bottom of the screen.

Maybe suggestion for another version, beside having the just start button when you hide, maybe open applications buttons could show as well. At least ones that are pinned to the taskbar already.

Might want to check out why Symantec and Norman (not Norton) flag it as suspicious. Probably just on their part, but it might scare away someone from using it.

Ive noticed that, Im looking to see if theres a notification I can send to let all open applications know the taskbar has shifted and have them auto-resize like when you change the taskbar location.

LOL, Symantec detects "Suspicious.Insight" :sarc:

You can use Reflector to see the source code of every executable Ive developed so god knows what its detecting, It seems NAV/Symantec desktop versions dont show anything though

Looks like im not the only one: VirusTotal - Free Online Virus and Malware Scan - Statistics , "Suspicious.Insight" has 37, 723 detections in the last 24h

I did find the two causes of the FP though: Fewer than 100 uses/scans and Built less than a week ago

Never noticed this forum before.

This is almost like something that I've always wanted. I've always wanted a free floating start orb that would be able to be placed anywhere on the screen that you want. When you click on it, it would "unfold petals" options in other words, for things to do, like see all your programs, control panel, sleep/shutdown, etc. It would be about twice the size of the current orb and easily skinnable. When you're not using it, it would fade into the background, going nearly transparent.

Too bad I'm an HTML programmer, and not a Windows scripter.

Having kind of a minor problem. When I run the application and select hide it works perfectly but if i go to the start icon once it stays locked there and wont re-auto hide. Then the start icon is overlaid over anything else I open (like my browser) in the lower left corner.

I have the same inquisition. Works perfect in Windows 8- even though there is no start button. However, when I reboot it doesn't reload the settings to hide the taskbar. I have to launch winshell all over again to hide the taskbar. Do you have a solution to this?:huh: I put it in the startup folder but it just starts up the application on boot
