shortcuts to websites

hi guys
newbie here
so i just got my hands on a new hp laptop with windows 7, 64 bit,having a bit of trouble getting my head around 7 as im an xp on the old tower pc
simple question really,how do i create a short cut to a website on to my desk top
in xp its a simple right clk and create short cut to desk top but the tab aint there in 7

Right click on the web page and then create shortcut
The tab is on mine
Windows 7 HP
Try again.

If it does not work try to send a screen shot of what options you have.

Simply Drag/Drop the Favicon to your Desktop like this

just tried it again thats what ive been doing all night but i dont get the tab,the only one i get is (save as) and that doesnt do it

In my IE browser the shortcut is there by right clicking or by going to File; Send; Shortcut to desktop.

In Firefox you need to add the deskCut addon which will let you right click and "Create deskCut" which is a shortcut on the desktop.

For me it is easier to right click than to drag and drop.

richc46 suggested right clicking on the web page. In IE there is a "create shortcut" option which puts the shortcut on the desktop.
