Should I Update This Driver Or Not ??

Epson V500 Photo Scanner. Works fine. No problems.
New driver has been out for over a year. Read the problem(s)
the new driver corrected and I have seen none of them.
Should I update the driver or not ??

I think many (most?) people on this forum are of the opinion "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Drivers are one of those things that can totally hose a computer if there are compatibility issues. Having said that, you can certainly test the new driver if you take a couple of minutes to protect your computer first.

At a minimum I'd make a new system restore point before installing the driver. If something goes wrong you could restore your machine back to the way it was. A system image would be even better.

Hard to believe I didn't think of System Restore to eliminate any headaches caused by a software install.
