Should I ?

I have this computer FRYS.com | Hp and it gets really hot throughout the day. Is this one of those computers you set vertically? Possible keeping it cooler.
Ex: It would be ontop of my desk with my moniter sitting on it.

Yeah it is a slimline vertical. Not a sideways.

You have to make sure all the vents are not covered.
Venting is at a premium on these small cases.
Cover up one vent and you will probably cook it inside.

So keep it upright and vents uncovered rear and side.

Those slimline boxes are a problem. If you have the possibility to cool it with an additional external household fan, that will help.

do they make external fans that i could attach to an airvent instead of finding open space for and internal 1 ?

I scrolled thru the pictures in the manual and I see no way to add a fan anywhere inside or out.

Keep the vents unblocked and you should be fine.

no I mean like a fan you kinda strap to the outside to keep it cool

If you keep all the vents clear and leave room around the tower for good air circulation you should be fine.
In the extreme, remove the side panel and point a household fan at the CPU.

Buy a small fan from WallyMart for about $6.00 and place it near you slimline tower.
That should provide good circulation in and around your tower.IMHO

It also wouldn't hurt to open it up and spray it out with compressed air every few months or so. Keep it on a desk, rather than on carpet, and keep things away from any intakes or exhausts as well.
