Since the game "Shovel Knight" launched I've gotten this crash:

Problem signature:

OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4
Locale ID: 1053

Additional Information 2: 385e313f82c4e12e31d206276b6adc1a
Additional Information 3: a4d0
Additional Information 4: a4d0e7ea9d7088d6d08ffb3b9567bee0

I've sent this information to YachtClub (the developers) as well but thought I would post it here too.

So far I've tried compatibility modes, installing the redists included with the game, getting the latest windows updates, reinstalling Steam, reinstalling the game and I've had no luck. The most progress I got was after reinstalling Steam where the game got as far as trying to connect to the internet which prompted my firewall to ask for permissions.

Does anyone know what the module "StackHash_385e" is, what the exception code and offset means, etc? More information about that might give a better idea of things to try.

I managed to resolve the issue.

Just in case anyone else runs into this issue before the devs fix it, the game seems to be dependent on explorer.exe as the default shell. (I use bblean.)

The workaround I'm using to play it right now is simply shutting down my bblean "blackbox.exe" shell via the taskmanager and starting it up again after each session.
