Here it is Leak testing. Not the prettiest, but so far (2 hours) no leaks. It's all I'm going to do! I'm tired of fighting with it. By request from Joey. It's all your fault.

Steve that is the XM isn't it? cos if so would you reckon I would be better off with liquid cooling - am not planning on thrashing it to death as I was going to use the
Deepcool Gamer Storm Assassin CPU Cooler.

The other thing I was curious about is what are those two tubes going to the front of the case for? as my lads machine just had a rear radiator in it.

Just a matter of interest though with the leaks is that I seem to remember that that anti freeze / cooler liquid is better at finding leaks than water - in cars at least. I suppose it is out of the question to use that leak stuff you can put in cars for the system in the computer?

No, That case is the Switch 810. As far as anti freeze, I understand you can put a little in the water, but it turns the water yellowish. The tubes running to the front of the case is a front Dual 5.25 Bay reservoir ( more trouble than they are worth, IMO). For the XM, a 240mm (2X120mm fans) will fit fine, it won't take a 360mm rad without modifications. An H 100 would fit perfect. As far as air coolers, mass gets the best results. It has to have a very large surface area to cool right. If you are going to seriously overclock I would go for the Noctua NH-D14 or Silver arrow. They are both huge and take a lot of room, but your XM will take it. My XM has the D14 in it. IMO, the D14 is better than the H100, I've had both. The Closed loop coolers do not have a reservoir, so not as many tubes. here is my XM with the D14 in it. You just need low profile memory, there is 44mm available. I use G Skill Ripjaws or Sniper, they are 40mm tall. If you are talking about your 2500, it won't need such a large cooler. You can't overclock it that much. I'm not familiar with the cooler you chose, so can make no comments about it. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a good cooler if you aren't doing heavy overclocking. It's probably the best cooler in it's price range. I hope that answers all of your questions, if not, fire away.

I do wish more gpu makers would consider making backplates for their cards, it just look awesome and as I understood from reading a bit it helps a bit with keeping the card a bit cooler, when I was looking for a new card I was checking the evga just because of that but every review I read stated that the cards was running hot so ended up with a asus DCII card, and after seeing Alsisgevat WC evga cards it made me sad ^^, I want to do a WC riged but it have to be when I have a job so I dont need to worry as much about the money if something would go wrong

Well have a look on FC Backplates - VGA Blocks - Blocks, they supply backplates for allot of the cards, I bought 2 from them at first when I planned on putting a waterblock on a aircooled gpu, imo the ekwb plates look better, they don't have the holes in them like evga's, but the backplates should only be gotten if you have a heavy card, or if you like the look, because it offers no additional cooling, and is some reviews made the cards get warmer. But I personally like them allot, it finishes off a build

The only reason to use antifreeze is because of the anti-corrosion properties, but basically any additive with ethylene glycol in it will work, most use pure ethylene glycol, but is hard to find here,and more expensive. And as Steve said, AF colors your water, depending on what brand or bottle, you could end up with a great color,or a sea sick green one like I did, the plus point is,that when the pump starts the color is thinned out into the loop,and unless you shine a flashlight on it,it's hard to see.

Well, it isn't pretty, but it works. I haven't cleaned it up yet, but not a lot to do. This case has given me fits. The wiring stinks. But, I'm too tired to care right now.

Steve that cooler I saw somewhere this morning is that a Deepcool Frostwin or the Deepcool Assasin and I cannot find a height for the Assassin and I'd like to know how much clearance there is as the Arctics I fitted to the Sandy Bridge were a very tight fit and I don't want to end up getting the wrong thing .
Also I am trying out the G.Skill Ares F3-2133C11Q-16GAO 16GB are these going to fit with that cooler do you reckon?

I'm using a hec 7K09BBA case as my HTPC, and it looks fairly nice, except cable management is horrible. The PSU cables just directly into the hard drive bays, which although there is room for three bays there's only mounting points for two. I had the SSD out because I was hoping to velcro it underneath the optical drive and fit a second HDD underneath the other HDD, which was where the SSD was originally. Unfortunately it bumps up against the motherboard. (ended up taking out the card reader, but I wasn't using it anyways). I just don't understand why the sata power cables have to bee so long, and i had to use a couple molex to sata cables, which didn't help. Fortunately airflow isn't completely impeded, so it runs fine.

Any of YOUR systems nasty on the inside?
(PS: that one red cable goes over the bar because I had to burn something. I'm one sata cable short, so I had the disk drive unplugged until the new cables come in.

Sure, the Ares fit with most any cooler. The picture in my HAF XM case is a Noctua NH-D14. I believe it is 163mm tall and just about as wide. If it will fit, I'm sure most anything will. Cooler Master says it will support a CPU cooler up to 196mm.

Thanks. Despite it's flaws it is a pretty nice case. I just wished they had a couple more hard drive mounts below the other drives.

I'm planning to eventually build a new HTPC, but I haven't really found any other style of case I like (unobtrusive looking, no flaps, slot for optical drive, flat but wide and not too deep).

Now, I have a question of my own that I'd rather ask here than make a separate thread for: how much would any of you sell two 6950's for knowing one of them (the Sapphire in my case) is the newer of the two and was purchased only about a month or two ago, perhaps three?

I also have a 4870 to throw in the mix.
