Why not? With the right color (not some nasty color like "gang green" or puke), it would give the MOBO a unique appearance that would pop inside the case.

I do like the look of my Z77 Sabertooth, but more importantly it's been an absolute rock solid board. Unless they mess around with them in the future, I'll probably always go with a Sabertooth motherboard.

I RMA it and the one I got back has been solid and flawless.
I see no problem painting the armor if one has a desire to do so.

I see no problem painting the armor if one has a desire to do so.

It's kind of a luck of the draw with motherboards isn't it Jack. I seem to have always been lucky but I know Steve has had some bad luck in the past and Gary (god rest his soul) had terrible luck and had to RMA loads.

It can happen with any computer part. As long as their isn't any RMA problems I can handle it.

My local Intel Dealer is using Gigabytes motherboards when Intel boards are not available or the customer has a price range.
He wants me to try one but I have been reading where many are having problems with them. I'm one of the few home user he deals with. He does things like large business, schools, police and fire departments in many communities. He sell computers by the hundreds at one time to such places. Of course using the lower end Gigabyte motherboards. Has had zero problems.
I think he wants me to be the guinea pig to test the higher end Gigabytes boards.
I haven't decided.

I have two computers and both have Asus motherboards and they work well.
A little something I learned on my Asus P6X58D-E; if you tighten the after market cooler to tight you will get craze ram problems. It took me a long time to figure that one out.

I've also had more than my fair share of trouble in that department.. One machine I build ages back (my Athlon 2 5400+ machine) took me four months to get running; first the RAM was faulty, then after getting working RAM the motherboard turned out to have a few audio component glitches, and lastly the GPU wouldn't handle any temps higher than 65 degress without shutting down.

Must admit, I have been pretty fortunate since then.. I've been getting a few random graphical tears across my screens with my new machine, but GPU/CPU stress testing hasn't revealed any issues, so I suspect it might be a cable issue (2x HDMI, 1x DVI-HDMI adapter; bump them and it either fixes or causes the tears).

One odd thing: if my machine has been unplugged for any decent length of time, the first time I turn it on, it will simply turn off again after 20 to 40 seconds. Doesn't happen at any specific point in the boot sequence or time period, but it only happens once and only after it's been unplugged. Weird hey?

Read up on your power supply. It might have a self test built in.

My Corsair has a self test procedure when it is turned on after the power has been removed from it.

When turning the power on to the power supply and booting the system; every things comes on, (fans, lights, pumps ect) and then shuts off for a few seconds. Then the power supply comes on again and goes into a normal boot.
It only does this after the power has been removed from the power supply.

I have seen almost all new psu do that. I think it is a great feature.

Hmm.. Can't seem to find any info on a feature like that for the V1000, or for Seasonic's KM3 platform on which it's built. But in my case it gets way past that (when this happens), sometimes to the point of seeing my login screen, other times while I'm still on the Windows loading screen. Very odd.

I'm a software tester by trade, so I'm used to looking for patterns in an issue, when you don't have log files to work with that's generally the best pointer for identifying a problem. In this case I've got nothing though, so in that sense it's pretty darn frustrating.
