I was pointing to his screenshot that says this is the driver version. But just for clarification that's the firmware version, not driver. The driver is on the driver tab.
Then you have whatever SATA controller drivers you're using there in this shot.

You have the same Firmware as I do, 2CV102HD, or 02HD as refered to on the site below.

According to this Intel site it's the latest version.

The best SSD benchmark I've found is AS SSD.
It also shows the Brand, Firmware version, IDE/SATA driver type, Alignment info, and size in the upper left corner.

Your HD Tune benchmark didn't look right. Try the AS SSD benchmark.

Your read speeds were less than my X25-V 40GB. Yours should be at 250MB/s.

For the OS there is no need to get too excited about the read/write speeds. It is the access time that counts. My OCZs are at 0.1ms/sec. For Samsung I have no data.

That looks much better.

The sequential reads/writes are where they should be, access times could be better.
Not sure why your 4Ks are low.​

You can tweak things a little to get an improvement in the access times, if you feel the need to ​

Is your write cache enabled?

Warning/Reminder for Sandforce drives

OK, I'll be Nanny the Nag and post this warning/reminder for Sandforce users.....

With regards to AS SSD usage....

SANDFORCE Disclaimer:
This benchmark uses non-compressible completely RANDOM data, so Sandforce drives won't produce "super-fast" numbers like they do in ATTO.
Also writing a whole bunch of non-compressible data to the drive quickly has reportedly pushed a few Sandforce drives into "write throttled" mode, basically Sandforce users have been warned

For those with OCZ Sandforce drives, check the benchmarking section of this guide - Guide THE BASIC GUIDE & FAQ - ABC for OCZ SSD

Here’s some don'ts from that section....

Do not use AS_SSD (writes between 3-5 GiB) on default settings.
Do not use CDM (writes between 15-19 GiB) on default settings.
Do not use AS_SSD and CDM together in the same Logged On session.
Do not run FF pattern on ATTO. Default settings are ok.
Run IOmeter with 4KiB 'sector' alignment. Do not run it to fill the drive.
Do not use 'Full' Benchmarks more than once in the same Logged On session.
Do not use any Benchmark (compressible data) more than once a week.
Do not use any Benchmark (un-compressible data) more than once a month.
Do not run Random patterns straight after Sequential or vice versa.
Best to run inidividual tests with small file sizes and not full suite default.

I would add that a lot fo those "don'ts" would probably apply to any SSD drive.

Now.... For those in the know, well.... you already knew this. For those of us who are new to this SSD thing.... beware

Bottom line... use with caution and understanding, and don't test too often.

Many SSD sites and manufacturers forums strongly recommend not to do very many benchmark tests, it can be harmful to all SSds.

From what I have read, "most" of those warnings/reminders for Sandforce users are due to the Sandforces controller.

Still not a good idea to run very many tests on your SSD in the same week, definately not on the same login session.

Yeah I've pretty much heard the same thing. Anyways being a newcomer to SSD's I had to do a little research before I got carried away with obsessing over my SSD scores.

No this isn't a swipe at anybody, it's the fact that I thought my scores were low and almost got to a point of continuously running tests to prove otherwise. Anyway I see I'm around the average. And the bottom line is my system is way faster than when I had a spinner.

Anyway it's good to post your scores, just don't get carried away to the point of degrading your drive

Easy enough to wipe the drive with hdderase, reinstall a system image and get your factory speeds back if it does degrade. Well, maybe not so "easy", but meh.

I have an OCZ Vertex 2E 60gb just freshly installed 2 days ago.

What can I say it's FAST FAST FAST and for under £90 the prices are just crazy good now. At this price I'm not bothered about wearing out the flash with too many writes, I can easily afford to replace it with a bigger, faster model in a couple of years.

2011 is the year the SSD becomes mainstream hardware.
