I know..sucks. I ordered another one so should be back in business early next week. I'm looking forward to March when "Bulldozer" and the C400 are released. I'll be getting all new parts (MOBO, the C400, CPU and RAM) In other words, a whole new system. Can't wait!

tw33k, Sorry about the problem. I just got through RAMing the MOBO and having 'fun' putting it back together. But, if you have decided to get the new Bulldozer - you must know something about it. I've been waiting for the release to find out about it and how it compares to Sandy Bridge. Don't keep me in suspense- tell us.

I agree. The new AM3+ socket should really challenge Intel for performance

Isn't Bulldozer supposed to be the server based chip...like the Opteron's? I thought they weren't intended for most consumer use...or would be cost prohibitive compared to alternatives?

This doc seems to indicate that Bulldozer could be 50% faster than previous AMD offerings!. It goes on to further extrapolate that a 1090T at 50% faster would be right about equivalent with the Intel 980X. And if the Bulldozer chips don't come out soon or are delayed for 6-9 months, who knows where Sandy Bridge will be.

pparks1, As I understand it at least most versions of bulldozer will be for consumer use, Bobcat is supposed to be server based.

I am using the new 1.28 Firmware on my OCZ Vertex2 and can only report good things nothing untoward has happened at all. Not sure if this is for all OCZ Drives but I thought I would upload this OCZ Toolbox for you all.

1.28 is for Sandforce Vertex 2, Vertex LE, and Agility 2 OCZ SSD's only.

And 1.28 has no changes from 1.24 besides adding support for 25nm flash drives. So if you already are running on 1.24, there's no need to update to 1.28.

The picture of your board I saw shows blue and white SATA connectors. Which color is for the Intel and which for the Marvel I could not see. It's probably stamped on the board, though.

I disabled the Marvel Controller and my reboot time went from 75 seconds to 28.

I've ran the benchmarks again and well their pretty much exactly the same. :/
I'm running on a Sata 2 socket, that is because my Motherboard said that particuler socke would give me the best boot time. Would Sata 3 boost my SSD performance?

So this means, that the Marvell controller slows the boot time because it needs to load, but as for read and write they stay the same. Well that's my issue, but I can't shut the controller because I'm using 2 WD caviars 6gb.

I wish the Marvell controller could be more stable. I have a few time outs.

Yeah. No code changes after 1.24. 1.25 on to 1.28 just add some drive support and that's it. Supposedly they are working on some firmware update that will have some code changes beyond the 1.24 firmware - but when and what, who knows. Only them I guess.
