The worst thing is they just started shipping 25nm drives with no indication of the change from 34nm, same models and part numbers. Makes it look like they are trying to hide something.

From the link you posted to the OCZ site it says they are the same name and same model numbers. How do you know if it is the 34nm or 25nm version?

Actually the link "I" posted was for benchmarking, however my statement is general and given the info available I guess you wouldn’t know. However I'm sure someone would find a way to figure it out

PS. It sounds strange that they are buying their nand from intel and intel has not come out with the new nand. Maybe somebody got snookered.

With revision numbers and all the other info on these drives I'm sure someone will figure out a way to distinguish between 34 & 25 nm nand drives. I can guarantee OCZ has a record; it would be poor business and technical practice not to.

On their forums, that is exactly what they are being accused of, along with a few other terms.

Well they open themselves up to that sort of speculation when the try hiding things. Again I would honestly be shocked if OCZ didn't know which drives have what nand in them. They may not tell us, but they know, somebody knows.

Anyway that's my thought on the situation. Luckily??? I got one of the 34 nand drives. I say question luckily because who knows what's going on now :shock:

Yeah, some of those people on the OCZ forum are very high strung. I go there only for some of the good tutorials, but the discussion threads are not worth it. Also too many "fumblers" who twist and tweak for no apparent reason - sometimes even the wrong reasons.

I hope I made the right pick as I just bought the Newegg.com - OCZ RevoDrive X2 OCZSSDPX-1RVDX0240 PCI-E 240GB PCI-Express x4 MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) at a discounted price of $610 total with $115 discount and an extra $2.99 discount for preferred account and free shipping and interest free for 6 months. It is my tax return gift to myself. When I get it and install it I will let you know how good it is and how much faster it is. I know it is a high cost and I really did not need it but this is something I wanted and had to try. The speeds looked unreal!

In the end they're still SSD drives over spinners. Anyway by the time it's time to replace the SSD drives of today OCZ's issues will be a thing of the past.

It will be interesting to get your real life report. I suspect it will not make a big difference for the OS (versus e.g. a Vertex 2) because the access times are the same and data rates do not matter a lot. But for pumping large amounts of data it should really make a difference.

I just did the test on mine a brand new drive got 285 best 265 worst which is read I think it should go much faster than that how can i check if i have plugged it into the right port and getting 6GB,s ?

What drive ar we talking about and what is the setup. What makes you think that you should get 6Gb/sec?

Those are very good speeds for an SSD regardless if you are plugged into a SATA II or III port. There are only a small handful of SATA III SSD's on the market and THEY ARE EXPENSIVE!!
