Perhaps the score is simply the normal operation of your SSD. I might suggest you go to a place like Newegg and read the User feedback of your SSD to determine if this is normal, taking into consideration chipset differences.

Same offset as on mine, clean install and Win7 set it.

Does Kingston have a monitoring app?

My results for a Patriot Pyro 60 GB SATA III SSD, $109.xx purchase price at newegg.

1, IDE bypassing the Windows cache = less than 400 MBS.

2, AHCI still bypassing the Windows cache over 550 MBS.

3, AHCI using Windows cache > 2.3 TBS.

Please note that this is on a single drive attached to a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 motherboard port.

Hopefully this shows the value of using AHCI as well as the value added by Windows' cache.

As another edit, I actually had to run Paragon twice. For some reason, the first run only aligned the smaller (200MB) partition even though I had selected both Drive 0 partitions for alignment. I ran Paragon again to actually align the Drive 0 partition that is used for data. Info provided for newbies like me who need to be hit between the eyes with directions/data.

You may have overlooked something. If the first partition is aligned, all other partitions are aligned too. The alignment is by multiples of 4 - but in KB. Once you have a partition of many MBs sitting in the front, then the next partition easily makes the multiple of 4KBs.

Example: the first partition is the little 100MB partition and that is aligned (e.g. with 1024KB). The next partition starts at 101 . but that is MBs. Convert that to KBs and you can easily divide it by 4.

Sorry, I'm just not knowledgeable enough to comment. After running CrystalDiskMark and receiving poor results, I srtated poking around the forum and found the alignment reference in the SSD benchmark thread. I bought Paragon after running the verification from an elevated command prompt and finding neither of the Drive 0 partitions were aligned. I ran Paragon for the first time and it only aligned the smaller 231MB partition (why I don't know because both partitions were slated for alignment in Paragon). After the intial pass, I ran AS SSD and received this result, which was not impressive:

I again opened and had Paragon analyze the drive and it reported the data partition was not aligned, so I ran it again. The results you see in my previous post as "aligned" is the AS SSD benchmarks after this second pass by Paragon.

WHS, I have used Paragon migrate over a dozen times and it has never failed. You can migrate to a raw drive and it will migrate and align it perfect.

Mike, I've never used the alignment tool, but it may be one of the tools that will only do 1 partition at a time.

You are right Steve. I used it 4 times and never had a problem either. But Defender used the other tool. That one I never used.
