Thanks. I do have Ubuntu installed on an external drive. Do you think it can properly be run from and external hard drive?

And here I thought memtest86 and memtest86+ were the same thing. Guess I more or less wasted a DVD

They work best from CD.

I am/was out of them at the moment.

Well, one thing I suppose quite a few people will be happy about:

That's in the change log for MemTest86+; the last item in the list will save a few people from headaches... And possibly cause a few more headaches for those of us that can't boot from USB. Lol. I can, but only if my drive access is set to SATA mode, it doesn't seem to work if I have it in RAID or AHCI.



Anyway, I'm going way off topic here... Somebody post a screenshot! Quickly! One with mind blowing figures to steer the conversation back on track!!

Only way to find out is to try it.. never installed Ubuntu on an external drive, but I don't see how it wouldn't

Thanks it surprised me! I tried to run the AS SSD Benchmark and it error-ed because of my 10% OC, oh well !

Thanks unusual, runs fine on my 44% OC.

Do you have a EIST function?

Found it:
I believe it's called PowerNow.

If you enable this your CPU will run slower when high speed is not required and speed up when needed.
Keeps everything cooler.

Yeah I've run the Quite 'N Cool feature before and will have to try it again. Are you saying that with that selected I will be able to run the AS SSD Benchmark or is this just good info on keeping the system cooler?

Both actually.

If the OC is stopping AS SSD from running, then this should allow it to run.

If it still doesn't run, it's an indication that you might have an issue that needs to be explored.

With 8GB RAM, do you need the 8GB ready boost?
I doubt it will ever get used, unless your doing some intensive graphics work.

I stopped the OC and the program ran, maybe you can tell me if this is a good score?



On next reboot I'll go back to OC and run again.
I had the flash card and it took in ready boost, I'm sure it's not working hard but maybe on occasion?
